Mauritius is ranked 6th in the list of 10 best places to retire

Mauritius is ranked sixth in the list of the ten best places to retire

Just like every year, “Retraite sans frontières” establishes a ranking of the best places to retire in 2022. In order to establish this ranking, the founder of the website, Paul Delahoutre, took into account 12 different factors such as the cost of living, real estate value, medical care, cultural heritage and gastronomy among others. In addition, more than 100 retirees responded to a questionnaire aimed at defining why certain countries represent “a paradise for their retirement”.

Notice that Covid has slightly changed the ranking. Because of the health crisis, European countries are more and more in demand. With Covid, Paul Delahoutre explains, « retirees want to be sure that they can return to France easily, but also that they can benefit from a good health care system ».

Greece tops the ranking for the first time, followed by Portugal and Spain.

Mauritius is in sixth place. Once again, it is the paradisiacal beaches and the diversity of the fauna that attract the attention of visitors. “The stability of the country is comforting, and the locals speak French”, emphasizes Paul Delahoutre. Nevertheless, as for other postcard settings, the distance from France can dissuade more than one retiree.

Choosing the country where you will live your retirement is one thing; finding the city, the port, the beach or the picturesque village where you will feel happy and at peace for the rest of your life is another. “Retraite sans frontières” also gives you a helping hand with a top 10 list of cities and villages where it is good to live your old age.

Mauritius takes third place, behind Greece and Portugal.

Trou aux Biches, one of the least crowded tourist beaches in Mauritius, offers peace and tranquility to those seeking solitude and a soothing atmosphere. This small community in the northern part of the island is a promise of relaxation and rejuvenation, with all the attractions that make for pleasant hours in the sun. The whimsical environment of Trou aux Biches offers a white sand beach, tropical gardens, blue water and lush flora.

To retire in Mauritius gives you the chance to enjoy a life of outstanding quality.

Eligibility
Any investor with an innovative concept for which there is no legal framework or sufficient measures to cover its materialization can submit a full application for the issuance of an RSL. The applicant must be able to demonstrate the creative character of the project on a local, regional or global scale.
